Course Overview
In this presentation we will explore,
the unexpected, in jewelry making.
Participants will learn the basics of metalworking, including conditioning the metal, sanding, filing, using a Jewelers saw and tin/metal snips, creating windows, wire-working techniques, including jump rings, loops and rivets.
Participants will also learn to incorporate
“ found - objects” into their pieces.

Sterling Wire 16-20gauge
Metal sheet, copper, brass, sterling
Wire, of your choice
Dremel or drill
Metal working tools including hammers, (chasing & rawhide) jeweler’s saw, and files
Gemstones (Cabochons)
Photos, Found objects, and any item you would like to use in your piece of jewelry.
Extension cords, personal lighting (if you have any)
Bench pin
Notebook for taking notes.

If you have a lapidary store near you they should carry all the needed supplies.
· The instructor will have supplies available for purchase during class, including but not limited to: sheet metals, rivets, and acrylic sheet, gemstones , cabachons and found objects.
